Picture Reveal asks a different football question: how quickly can you recognise a face when almost all the context has disappeared? Choose Casual for the most recognisable players, Football Fan for familiar names, Expert for less obvious faces or Challenger for the lowest-recognition valid photo pool. The first crop may show only an eye, part of a hairstyle or a strip of a shirt.
Why the zoom changes the decision
Waiting makes the answer safer but the score smaller. Guess early when a distinctive feature feels familiar, or hold back until the face is clear. A correct answer halfway through the minute earns roughly half the standard maximum, so the game rewards recognition without turning one uncertain click into an all-or-nothing result.
Player names still stay searchable
The same fast name search used by the main Clue XI game appears beneath the image. Start typing a first name, surname or familiar form and select from the footballer pool. The image source is never exposed as a spoiler in the interface, and reusable photographs retain their required credit.

How long is the football picture round?
The image reveals over 60 seconds. The standard available score falls continuously from 1.20 points to zero.
Does the picture reveal all at once?
No. The portrait begins heavily zoomed and moves outward gradually, so every second adds visual information.
Can I choose the Picture Reveal difficulty?
Yes. Casual, Football Fan, Expert and Challenger use the matching Clue XI recognition pools. The timer and scoring remain the same.
Can Picture Reveal be the featured mini-game?
Yes. The featured mini-game rotates daily, and the featured game earns double its usual points.
How scoring fits the Clue XI arcade
The standard maximum is 1.20 points. One mini-game is featured each day and earns double points, but every game remains available. Results feed the same Clue XI profile, while Pro removes advertising between completed games. Return to the main football quiz for career clues or try the shared ClueXI Daily challenge.
